I started Domesday Extracts after speaking to my brother, Tom.

We're both big history buffs and grew up in a village listed in the Domesday Book. Our dad had written a book about the history of the village including interpreting the Latin description which explained the land ownership, number of animals and farm implements and even described a dispute between land owners.

Tom managed to source a comprehensive set of over 6,000 extracts for towns and villages across England, and managed to arrange translations of the original Latin descriptions into modern day English. He also collated a glossary of the anicent terms, giving our customers an amazing opportunity to learn about their local town or village.
